HOW TO PURCHASE A PAINTING
I always work in a series where I create as many pieces as possible and then I release them on my website as a collection. If a painting has sold, it will be noted as such. If the piece is available, you will be able to add it to your cart and follow the prompts to purchase. Available work can be found on my Shop page. If there are no paintings for sale it means that they have all sold, but I am always in the studio creating new works. You can view current works in progress on my Instagram. On rare occasion I will offer work for sale directly through my Instagram, so if you see a piece on my feed that you would like purchase you are welcome to contact me to see if it is still available. If you would like me to put a painting on hold, please contact me immediately so that I can reserve it for up to 48 hours.
I also exhibit in local art shows and galleries several times a year. If you are interested in seeing my work in person then please visit my Events page. I always share upcoming events via my Instagram and Website.
HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN A NEW PAINTING IS AVAILABLE FOR SELL?
WHAT IF I MISSED MY CHANCE AT BUYING A PIECE THAT I WANT?
I frequently accept commissions and am willing to work with a serious buyer to create something similar to a painting that is no longer available. Keep in mind that I do not make replicas of previous work, however, I am willing to create a piece of the same subject matter.
I frequently accept commissions and it all starts by reaching out to me! Please feel free to contact me and give me a general idea of what you are looking for, and then we can discuss the commission process.
GALLERIES, INTERIOR DESIGNERS AND PUBLISHERS
Please contact me via email if you are interested in representing, licensing, or purchasing my work at wholesale. Paintings are not to be purchased directly from the store for resale without my permission.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I PLACE AN ORDER ONLINE?
Once the payment is verified and received, I will prepare your painting for shipment. The piece will be carefully packed and shipped via USPS First Class or Priority Mail or via UPS. USPS does not offer tracking services for First Class packages. Priority mail comes with tracking but please note that the tracking tends to be unreliable. I will always provide tracking information when available. If you need expedited delivery on a painting, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I will always notify you once a painting has been sent.
SHIPPING CHARGES AND INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
The purchase of the painting and the shipping costs are charged separately. Your shipping charges include the cost of postage, packaging materials and time. Insurance is not included, please contact me if you’d like to add insurance.
Shipping charges are calculated at checkout based on package weight and location. If there is a large discrepancy between quoted price and actual costs, I will let you know via email. An additional invoice may be necessary.
International buyers accept responsibility for taxes, customs, and all other fees. Shipping charges may vary from the amount you pay at checkout.
I handle and prepare each piece for shipment with extreme care and consideration. Depending on the size, your piece may arrive in a rigid flat mailer, thick cardboard tube, or sturdy cardboard box. All artwork, with the exception of the smaller canvas paper pieces, are bubble-wrapped and secured in their shipping container. Local pickup is also available – include a note with your order or send me an email.
Depending on your location in the world, paintings with a side larger than 36 inches may be sent un-stretched and rolled safely in a sturdy tube. I will help you connect with a local framer to build the support bars and stretch the canvas.
Due to the unique and delicate nature of each piece, all sales are final. Commissioned and custom work is also not eligible for return.
WHAT IF MY PIECE IS LOST OR DAMAGED?
In the unfortunate circumstance that this happens, I’ll do whatever I can to make things right. I’ll do my best to offer a replacement or issue a refund. Please email me immediately with questions or concerns.
ARCHIVAL PRINTS & GICLEES
Due to the unique texture of my paintings, I typically do not offer prints of my artwork. There are rare occasions when I may make an exception for someone interested in one of the smaller pieces that do not have as much texture.
Framing is not included unless stated otherwise. Finding the right frame for your painting can be an intimidating part of the process and my goal is to help make it as easy as possible for you if this is something that you are interested in. I am currently working with a local frame shop in Southeast Portland, but I am willing to work with a local framer in your area if you have a preferred shop. Please email me if you would like to discuss custom framing. Additional charges will be invoiced separately.
WHAT MEDIUMS DO YOU USE?
I paint with high quality, professional Acrylics on either linen or cotton canvas. 99% of my artwork is created using Heavy Body Acrylics and gel or paste mediums. I will occasionally work on canvas paper or wood panel.
WHAT SUPPLIES DO YOU USE?
The method I use to get paint on the canvas is a mixture of various types of brushes and palette knives, and I also use my fingers when necessary.
DO YOU TEACH?
I have recently considered teaching, but have not pursued that path yet.
WHY DON’T YOU GO BY YOUR LAST NAME?
I prefer going by my first and middle name when it comes to marketing my artwork.
Screens tend to display color differently so check images on multiple screens if you are concerned about color variations. Please contact me if you would like to view additional photos. You can also ask to view the painting in person at my studio if you are interested in seeing a piece before purchasing. I try my best to represent the colors and texture in my work as accurately and honestly as possible.
